Why a site logo that links to the home page is not enough

A smarty research group is arguing for a home button on the web in addition to using the logo – because there are apparently people outside of big cities who do use the internet and aren’t digital natives. They say websites should have both implicit and explicit links to the home page. Minimizing confusion and maximizing a user-friendly experience can mean page visitors explore the page more and visit more areas of the website. “It is great if your site logo offers a one-click approach to navigating to your homepage. But don’t stop there. While more people than ever have learned to click on the logo to go to the homepage, many users still look for an actual Home link.”
